This is a very soft balm that melts on contact with the skin. Providing an ultra-nourishing yet lightweight layer. It makes a lovely morning balm when more moisture retention is needed plus has the added benefit of enhancing your SPF with potent UV protective antioxidants. Once absorbed fully it gives a velvet finish with a hint of glow.
The rich red color from the gromwell root does not add pigment to the skin and can actually help reduce redness in the skin as it supports our inflammatory responses.

The color can vary from purple to red depending on infusions/oils.
Over time the color becomes muted as the gromwell root settles into the oils, butter, and wax.
In weather fluctuations, small little butter beads can form but are easily melted into the skin through massage. Or if you prefer the original smooth consistency: place the jar (with the lid on) in hot water filled to just below the bottom of the lid. Once melted, place in the freezer and remove after an hour. Once the balm reaches room temperature it returns to a smooth consistency.
